"Salty Adventure of the Year" is a film about two sisters who, while vacationing in Mexico, unfortunately, find themselves on a shark-infested adventure.

The sisters are played by two recent television actresses, Mandy Moore (This Is Us) and Claire Holt (The Vampire Diaries, The Originals). Lisa (Ms. Moore) has recently been dumped by her boyfriend for being a total nerd, and Kate (Ms. Holt) is the feisty and fearless younger sister who convinces her to take risks. The two sisters -- for reasons that only make sense in the world of the film -- not only board Captain Taylor's (Matthew Modine) ship but jump right into the rusty shark cage that Taylor is winched through with a winch from a junkyard.

Bottom of the sea

We already know what to expect from the film's title. A woman's five-meter dive turns into a 47-meter plunge to the bottom of the ocean. They have to choose: stay on the bottom of the sea or swim to the surface, risking bends and sharks. Finding nothing of interest around the bends, the sisters decided not to make contact, hoping for a miraculous rescue.

Expectations never rise

The sisters realize their failure and begin to talk about sibling rivalry and petty jealousy.
