Directed by talented actors
playing sincere and beautiful roles
A technical masterpiece, a
breathtaking wonder. The bottom line is that single-screen movies are a
pointless gimmick unless, like all good movies, they have a story worth telling
and tell it that way. There is a real story in the film, led by talented actors
who play sincere and wonderful characters, but the technical aspects support
and enhance the story rather than detract from it. It's great.
The long shots are designed
to do unexpected damage
I spent a lot of time during
the film worrying that the constant camera flashes would distract me or, worse,
that the filmmakers would lose interest in the characters and their lives and
instead focus on demonstrating technological advances. I shouldn't have
worried. To me, it was like Children of Men, where the long story is more
important than anything else, but Sam Mendes thought the opposite.
Anger and friendship
He uses the timeline as a
narrative tool rather than an artistic one, and I finally understood the value
of this technique. Follow the journey of two men step by step: quarrels, jokes,
breakups, misunderstandings and friendships, heated actions and quiet, touching
moments - all gathered in one room and presented at a realistic pace, creating
a unique relationship. Before ten minutes have passed, you already feel like
you know them, and if you can't see their character traits, like their hopes
and fears, but find them in the fleeting details of their actions, it's even
more rewarding to get to know them.
Beautiful
in its simplicity, but also picturesque
Roger
Deakins has made a film that stands out for its uniqueness. It is unpretentious
and ignores the problems that undoubtedly existed behind the scenes. It is very
difficult to achieve this delightful simplicity without leaving white spaces in
the picture that must be cropped. In long takes, it is distracting when the
camera switches from person to person during an interview or action, and the
delay slows the pace of the film. That's not the case here.
It's interesting
and creates momentum
In the story, the actors and the camera form a triple knot, an intertwined dance with
no clear beginning or end, neither leading nor following, but supporting and
sustaining each other. The rhythm is incredible. Tension, action and emotion
are created before our eyes, not during editing. I don't really have a problem
with the editing, but it says a lot about the work and effort put into this
film, which vibrates and moves like any other film where pacing is so important
to create investment and hold attention.
Tell your story politely
They can't afford to make
mistakes, so they don't make them. What good is technical magic if the story
leaves you cold and the characters fall by the wayside? What good is a
well-told story if the audience doesn't understand its true meaning? This
brings us to the heart and soul of the film: Schofield, Blake and two
relatively unknown young actors, George McKay and Dean-Charles Chapman. They
are joined in small roles by actors such as Colin Firth, Andrew Scott, Mark
Strong, Benedict Cumberbatch and Richard Madden, who give the film depth and
insight.
This is not a prejudice
But George and Dean were
always the first ones, and I wanted to see more of them and get to know them
better because they were both male characters. I've long been a fan of George
McKay and even wanted to see more of his lesser-known roles, but I didn't fall
in love with Schofield's acting because of my own prejudices. McKay brings a
depth and nuance that fills every moment. He's not very expressive, more
introverted, but there's an authenticity to his ideas that can only come from a
deep and genuine engagement with the characters on the page.
The film succeeds not only
in entertainment but also in informing
It brings the characters and
the film to life. Chapman is also interesting. You notice that they feel and
think like their characters, that they don't pretend or imitate. They play off
each other like razors, they reveal their characters in a very British way
without saying what they really mean, and their subtlety makes me want to go
back and better understand what is being implied. In conclusion, I think
something has to be said about the charm of this film.
The struggle of the individual against his desires and fears
I think it is important to
understand what you are watching: the beautifully choreographed dances, the set
design and the shots of the actors. Katmoviehd
is a new free entertainment portal where you can download Bollywood and
Hollywood movies in high quality. The performance is beautiful, but when the
importance of even the smallest details of the dance is added to the poetry,
the humanity and the struggle of each person with their desires and problems,
the performance becomes art. Find your favourite film of all time on movies watch. Discover your own ocean of entertainment. And we're drowning in
art. The film is not exceptional because of the quality of engagement or technical
skill; engagement is simply the journey we take.
Understanding intangible ideas and impulses
Just as the abstract ideas and
impulses of Schofield and Blake's characters are understood by reading beneath
the concrete surface of their words and actions, 1917 uses the technical and
material language at its disposal to express the incomprehensible reality of
the human mind, beyond what ordinary words can tell us.
